Landfill
The City of Snyder Landfill provides waste disposal services for household trash, construction and demolition debris, appliances, and organic materials. Some disposal services are free for residents, while others, such as construction waste or large-item disposal, include a fee.
Before your visit, please review the details below to ensure a smooth drop-off. If you are hauling a large load or special materials, we recommend calling ahead to confirm acceptance and get unloading instructions 325-573-8826.
All loads must be secured and covered during transport. Unsecured loads may result in additional fees or denial of service.
Using Your Utility Bill
Residential customers with an active City of Snyder utility account can use their utility bill once a month to discard household items or brush that are too large for regular trash collection. This service is included as part of your regular sanitation service, so there’s no additional cost.
To use the program, bring a current City of Snyder utility bill and a matching photo ID when you arrive at the landfill. This ensures the service is used by residential customers only.
Program Guidelines
- One load per month is included with your utility account.
- The billing address must match your driver’s license or ID.
- Only household trash or brush is accepted.
- Not accepted as part of this program:
- Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners
- Construction, remodel, or demolition materials
- Tires
Note: All loads must be secured and covered during transport. Unsecured loads may result in additional fees or denial of service.
For questions, call the landfill at 325-573-8826.
These rules help ensure safe, efficient, and legally compliant disposal at the Snyder landfill:
- Bring proper ID and documentation. You may be asked for proof of residency or business credentials at the gate.
- Secure all loads. Tarps, nets, or covers must be used to prevent debris from blowing off during transport.
- Stay on designated routes. Once on-site, follow posted traffic signs and avoid restricted areas.
- Commercial haulers must follow regulations. They must comply with state and local hauling rules, permits, weight limits, and disposal requirements (including pre-approval for certain wastes).
- Unsafe loads may be refused.
- Observe rules on prohibited and restricted items. Some items cannot be accepted (see the next section).
- Illegal dumping is unlawful. Under Texas law, disposing of waste outside an approved facility is a punishable offense.
Below is a working list of what the Snyder Landfill accepts and what is prohibited. Use this as a guide — always check with the gatehouse if you’re unsure.
Accepted Materials
- Furniture, non-hazardous appliances (stoves, dishwashers, washing machines)
- Carpet
- Household trash, yard waste, brush
- Demolition and construction debris
- Metal and scrap

- Asbestos containing material
Prohibited Materials
- Used motor oil, filters
- Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners with refrigerant

Notes and Conditions
- Freon / refrigerant removal is required. Appliances with refrigerants must be properly decommissioned, and you must provide certification of removal before disposal.
- Igloos for used oil are located at the City Barn & Landfill (residential use only)
- The landfill may limit acceptance of tires due to space constraints. Tires will only be accepted from residential customers.
- No hazardous or liquid waste. These materials are handled separately under state or regional hazardous waste programs — the Snyder landfill is not permitted to accept them.
- Certain large or heavy construction loads may require special fees or pre-approval.
- Under Texas law, disposing of solid waste outside an authorized facility is illegal and subject to fines. Items too large for the dumpster must be hauled to the landfill.
For questions, call the landfill at 325-573-8826.
All loads brought to the landfill are subject to fees unless you’re using your monthly residential utility bill, which allows Snyder residents one standard load per month at no additional cost. Materials from construction, remodeling, or demolition projects are subject to landfill fees, even for residents.
Fees are calculated based on the weight of the materials brought for disposal. Non-residents, businesses, landlords, and any non-residential waste also incur landfill fees.
Below are some of the most common landfill fees to help you plan before your visit. This list is not comprehensive and may not include all charges. For a complete schedule of fees or questions about specific materials, please contact the landfill directly at 325-573-8826.
