Whether you are new to Snyder, moving within the city, or closing your account, the Utility Department is here to help you manage your services quickly and efficiently. Please note that credit and debit card payments under $40 cannot be accepted. For more information on rates and fees, visit the Utility Rates page.
Start Service
To begin utility service, please complete a Utility Service Agreement in person at City Hall, 1925 24th Street.
To open a new account, you will need:
- State-issued ID
- Social Security card
- Utility deposit (amount varies based on meter size and service type)
Stop Service
If you need to close your account, requests may be submitted in person, by phone, or through your online customer portal.
Transfer Service
If you are moving to another location within the city, transfer requests must be completed in person at City Hall.
Transfer requirements include:
- A $20 transfer fee.
- Current balance must be paid. Note: A final bill will still be issued for usage from the billing cycle end date through the cut-off date.
- Deposit must meet current utility rates. If your existing deposit is below the current rate, the difference will be due at the time of transfer.
- Move must occur within a two-week timeframe. Requests outside this timeframe will require a new service application.
