Special Events Application

Special events help strengthen our community by creating fun, cultural, and educational experiences for residents and visitors. To help keep everyone safe and ensure smooth coordination, the City of Snyder requires a Special Events Application for any event that involves large gatherings, temporary structures, or unique safety considerations.

A completed application helps event organizers and city staff work together to plan a safe, successful event that meets public safety requirements.

What is a Special Event?

A special event includes any organized activity or gathering that may affect public safety or require coordination with emergency services. Examples include:

  • Festivals or concerts
  • Parades, fun runs, walks, bike races, marathons
  • Carnivals or fairs
  • Outdoor markets or food truck events
  • Car shows
  • Animal attractions
  • Large private events open to the public

Who Needs to Apply?

You must complete a Special Events Application if your event:

  • Is open to the public
  • Requires road closures, tents, or temporary structures
  • Involves amplified sound, fireworks, or open flames
  • Uses generators or food vendors
  • Impacts city property or rights-of-way

If you’re unsure whether your event needs an application, contact the Office of Emergency Management at 325-573-6215.

Why an Application Is Required

The Special Events Application allows the Office of Emergency Management to:

  • Ensure emergency access and response plans are in place
  • Coordinate with Fire, Police, EMS, and other city departments
  • Protect the safety of participants, vendors, and the public
  • Maintain compliance with Fire Code Section 403.11.2
