Shelters & Community Centers
During emergencies and extreme weather, the City of Snyder may activate designated facilities to support public safety. These locations may be used as storm shelters, cooling centers, or warming centers, depending on the situation.
Availability, hours, and services vary by event. Always follow instructions provided through Snyder Alerts and official City communication channels.

Designated Storm Shelters
These facilities may be used for short-term sheltering during severe weather, such as tornado warnings.

- Ira ISD Safe Wing: 6190 W. FM 1606, Ira, TX 79527
- Hermleigh ISD Safe Wing: 8010 Business 84, Hermleigh, TX 79526
- Snyder Fire Department: 1911 27th St, Snyder, TX 79549
Additional shelter locations may be announced as needed during emergencies.
Cooling & Warming Centers
These facilities may open during extreme heat or cold events to provide a safe indoor environment.

What to Bring (If Time Allows)
If you are instructed to go to a shelter or community center, consider bringing:
- Essential medications and medical supplies
- Identification and important documents
- Phone chargers
- Supplies for children or pets (if permitted)
